The Stewart Observatory at Duckadang with its Celestron C-14 lens (14 inch), is one of the largest privately owned telescopes in Australia and visiting groups may explore the many wonders of our universe.

Astrofest
Astrofest is held annually at Duckadang and is jointly organised by the following astronomy societies:
- South East Queensland Astronomical Society,
- Southern Astronomical Society,
- Brisbane Astronomical Society,
- Astronomical Association of Queensland; and
- Sun Coast Astronomical Society.
At this event astronomers from all states get together to compare their experiences.
