Our Beginnings

In 1973, property owners at Linville, Mr and Mrs Graeme Burnett, donated 1.5 hectares of their property, gazetted as a fauna and flora reserve, to Lions Clubs International.

Lions

District 201K formulated a plan to develop a camp to provide recreational and environmental opportunities for youth and disadvantaged persons.

During 1978, the Queensland Governor Sir James Ramsay officially opened 'Lions Camp Duckadang', which drew its name from a local aboriginal elder best remembered for his determination and persistence.
